There are currently twenty-three National Parks in Poland. These range from the shifting dunes on the Baltic Coast to the rocky Alpine-like Tatra Mountains in the south. All National Parks, with the exception of the Bialowieski Park, are open pretty much without major restrictions to visitors.

- The oldest National Park is the Bialowieski National Park, which was founded in 1932.
- The newest National Park is Ujście Warty National Park, at the mouth of the river Warta.
- National Parks cover around 1% of Poland’s territory.
