Siemianowice is  a town with a population of around 75,000, and is today, very much a northern suburb of the large city of Katowice. It is part of the Silesian Voivodeship of southern Poland. Siemianowice is probably most famous as the town where the internationally known Progressive Rock band SBB was formed in the early 1970s.
