Stanisław August Poniatowski – the last King of Poland.

Stanisław August Poniatowski was the last King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania. Stanislaw was born in Wołczyn, which was at that time, part of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth. Wołczyn is now Volchin in Belarus. He acceded to the throne in 1764, reigning until his abdication on 25th November 1795. Poniatowski died after a stroke on 12 February 1798 and was buried at the Catholic Church of St. Catherine in St. Petersburg.
